Pools, Swaps, and Liquidity
Create a pool, understand swap quotes, and manage liquidity step by step.

How a pool works
A pool holds two assets. Traders exchange one asset for the other, and liquidity providers own a share of the pool through LP tokens.
Meteopad currently supports full-range liquidity. You do not choose bins or an upper and lower price range for a position.
Before a trade, the two reserves follow a constant-product pricing relationship:
Here, and are the amounts of the two assets held by the pool. The product describes the pricing curve. Fees stay in the pool, so the actual reserve product can grow as trades occur.
Create a pool
- Open Create a pool and confirm the selected network.
- Paste Token A's contract address and check its name, symbol, and wallet balance.
- Choose native ETH as the second asset, or enter a different token contract.
- Enter the maximum amount of each asset to deposit.
- Review the starting price, slippage tolerance, and minimum amounts.
- Click Review liquidity, acknowledge the review, and click Simulate step.
- Click Sign in wallet and confirm each required transaction.
- After confirmation, open View pool or My positions to inspect the result.
The first deposit sets the new pool's initial price. If A is the base token and B is the quote asset:
For example, depositing 1,000 ABC and 1 ETH starts the pool at 0.001 ETH per ABC. This is the price you establish, not an independent market valuation.
Add liquidity
Open an existing pool, choose Add liquidity, and enter your maximum deposits. Existing pools use their current reserve ratio:
and are the current reserves. The review matches your deposit to this ratio. Amounts that are not needed stay in your wallet or are returned.
- Open the pool and choose Add liquidity.
- Enter the maximum amount of each asset and review the matched amounts.
- Click Review liquidity and check the minimum amounts.
- Simulate and sign any approval, then simulate and sign the deposit.
- After confirmation, check the additional LP tokens in My positions.
How a swap quote is calculated
For a standard pool swap, the fee rate is f = 0.003, or 0.30%. The amount used in the price calculation is:
The estimated output is:
In these formulas, is the input reserve, is the output reserve, and is the amount you pay. Larger trades use more of the pool's reserves and move its price more.
For example, with 1,000 A and 1,000 B in a pool, paying 10 A gives an effective input of 9.97 A and an estimated output of approximately 9.87158 B. This is an illustration, not a live quote.
Swap step by step
- Open Swap and choose the assets you want to pay and receive.
- Enter an input amount and wait for the quote.
- Check the exchange rate, estimated output, price impact, and minimum received.
- Set your slippage tolerance. Keep some ETH for gas.
- Click Review swap and check the assets, amounts, and recipient.
- Click Simulate step, then Sign in wallet. Confirm an approval separately if one is required.
- Wait for the swap confirmation and check your wallet or Activity.
A funded direct pool must exist for the selected pair. The workspace does not currently combine several pools into one route.
Minimum received and slippage
Slippage tolerance sets how much less output you accept if the quote changes before execution. With tolerance s:
The app rounds the minimum down to the token's smallest unit. For an estimated output of 100 tokens and 0.5% slippage, the minimum is 99.5 tokens. If execution cannot meet the specified minimum, the transaction reverts.
Price impact and slippage describe different things. Price impact is the effect of your trade on the pool price. Slippage is your execution tolerance after the quote. Neither is an extra fee paid to the pool creator.
Remove liquidity
- Open My positions and choose the pool you want to manage.
- Choose Remove liquidity and enter the LP token amount to redeem.
- Select native ETH output if the pool contains WETH and the option is available.
- Review the estimated assets and minimum amounts.
- Simulate and sign each required approval or withdrawal.
- Wait for confirmation and check the assets returned to your wallet.
Withdrawing redeems LP tokens for a share of both pool assets. It can include principal and accumulated fees; it is not a withdrawal of profit alone.
